What are we working on, Jan. 2009

We are working now in "the reaper" (mentioned in a previous post), an automated process that will automatically delete torrents (and his respective album) that haven't show any seeder in 5 consecutive days. This will allows us to keep the website clear of dead torrents, without requiring any administrative overhead of our part.

Also (and this is very important), it will allow us to start accepting new torrents with only one seeder (if the uploader stop seeding, the torrent will die promptly without polluting the website), and we plan to put a notice in your profile page that will appear when one or more of your uploaded torrents have no seeders, listing them, to encourage you to start seeding it again.
I think that would we a very useful an nice functionality, and a good way to encourage voluntary seeding in this website when we don't enforce any ratio to anyone.

I will post the details when is ready and deployed, in approximately a week.

Cheers !

  1. This sounds like a very useful feature, and will be a welcome addition to the site. Especially for those who want to submit torrents created by themselves to ensure quality.

  2. Sounds great - can't wait to see it! I have a question - say if we upload an album and there is just 1 seeder or no seeder left, can we edit that album and provide a different torrent with more seeders? I think this is useful to keep things healthy. This of course means we will need to be able to edit all our uploads and also view them all which at the moment we can only view the last 35 uploads.

  3. Besides giving feedback to the user who has uploaded it, it would be nice if all people are notified when an album is stopped being seeded. People can fill in the blanks/jump in to help when they see a torrent has "died" or "dying".

We plan to add later more control to the users over his uploaded albums, and that could be one of the features included for that purpose.

Of course, if the torrent is in the countdown to be deleted, a notification will appear in the album page saying that and showing how much time has left.

  5. Hello

This site would be more attractive if the users could rate albums (0 to 10 Stars of something like this)
